Goes Along With Being a Homeowner....

Recently we've been having some things in our home go wrong as far as appliances are concerned. First it was our washer which we still can't figure out what's wrong with...and then our water heater.

Our washing machine had been acting kind of funny for a while...not draining correctly, etc. Then one day, it began filling the whole basement with smoke. Immediately we thought it was probably a belt that had broke or something along those lines, but when opening it up and taking a look we couldn't see anything wrong. Weird, huh?! I think it may have been filled a bit too much or something, because since then we've had no problems. We're definitely keeping an eye on it though.

Our water heater is another story. For a while now it had been leaking VERY slowly. We didn't think much of it, until recently when it began leaking more and more. To the point where it took a full towel just to clean it up each day. After looking into the problem further, we figured out that it needed a new valve. I'm really happy we did that as there is now no more water to clean up!

I don't mean to complain about these things. It is quite frustrating to have appliance problems like this, but on the other hand it's something that goes along with being a homeowner I suppose.

Beautiful Time Of Year

It's sure been nice having this cooler weather outside, don't you think?!? I like it when it's just cool...not humid like some days, but just nice and cool. Why you ask? Well, not only is it more fun to take Kaelyn out and do things outside, but it's also easier to turn of the AC and enjoy cheaper utility bills as well! I think it's been two weeks since we had our air on and I am so happy about that. In the cold winter months you can't help but use heat, and in the hot summer months you can't help but use the AC...but in the spring and fall we get the chance to enjoy fresh air and minimize those expensive bills that seem to go up, up, up! I'm definitely enjoying this time. I'd love it if the whole year could be like this....Snow, snow...stay away....

Beauty Jobs

Beauty Jobs are those which I seem to hear more and more about lately, either on the radio, on tv, or even online. The only thing is, I've often wondered how people go about finding jobs in this field. Well...now they don't have to worry about that. Beautyjobs.com has been launched...it's a new online job search engine exclusively for the beauty industry. Isn't that great?!? Now those who are looking for a job, maybe a beauty job or spa jobs, can check this site out first! And best of all, it's FREE! If you're one of those people looking for a job, check this site out today.

Boy How She's Grown

Kaelyn is going to be 11 months old in about a week, and all I can think about is how much she has grown. She is now walking along furniture and talking non-stop. She has learned words like Dada, Baby, uh-oh, Mama, and more....it's so great to see how she is learning. Next thing I know she'll be walking and talking. She is getting so big. I'm sure all parents can relate to the feeling of time flying by. Before we had Kaelyn we were always told how fast the time goes...but I guess until your actually a parent it's difficult to completely comprehend what it is they're talking about. I don't know what it is, but when you have children your life speeds up. I find myself not only saying where did the day go, but also where did the past year go...

The Weekend is Almost Here!

Although I love my job, I also love the fact that I can be home on the weekends. There are always things to do around the house, and so that's the time I use to get them done. This weekend I am changing the drainage valve on my water heater, cutting down some branches off my trees in my yard, and last but not least painting the trim on my house. There is a lot do and so little time to do it.

Where do I start?

With starting a new career there is always a learning curve, but usually you get the training you need to succeed. The first two days were great, I was taken around to meet everyone, the second day we went to Ames to a seminar. My third day on the job I was left on my own, no body to learn from. So everyday I go to work wanting to impress my boss, but have to figure out on my own how to do that, so I alway wonder where to start.

I Play the Waiting Game

I started my new job about a week ago, and I love it. The only thing that my job is lacking is my pickup. On my first day they gave me a pickup to drive until the new ones came in. Thinking that I would be getting one of the new pickups I was so excited, but then my boss dropped the bomb. I don't get a new pickup, instead, I get the pickup of one of the other sales reps and he gets a new one. I was so bummed, but I guess anything is better than what I'm driving now. So I wait.

CSN

I love to shop online. It's easy and convenient. One of my favorite places to check out great collectibles on TV and online is the Cable Shopping Network. Not only does their staff really know how to have fun and truly love what they're doing, but they also build relationships with customers along the way. You can tell that they really care and this is probably why thousands and thousands of people shop with them. If you are looking for some great products, like presidential dollars, this is the place to look. They have become one of the most successful retailers in the industry.

The Best Time of Year!

I am quite the sports fan. Not only for football but also for Nascar, and Baseball. I like baseball because this is the Hunt for October, playoff time, Nascar is now in the race for the Sprint Cup, and the NFL has just begun and I am the biggest football fan of all. So this is the best time of year, I love it!

Looking Forward To The Weekend

I didn't used to count down the work days as much as I do now. Isn't that weird, since I enjoy my job so much? The reason is because with my old job I never knew if I was going to have the weekend off or not. That made it impossible to look forward to weekends, because I figured 9 times out of 10 that I would be working. Now, however....I can look forward to the weekends because I only work mon-fri (most of the time). I look forward to weekends because it's the time I get to be with Jen and Kaelyn and spend time with them. It's been so great...I'm really happy with how this job is going.

VoIP Phone Systems

VoIP phone systems by Xpander are a great choice for many different businesses. It doesn't matter if you're a big company or a small one....this phone system is flexible and so user friendly...anyone could use it! There are features like the plug and play phones and the web control panels that let you re route your extension, manage voicemails and more! What I like about having this kind of phones system at my place fo work is that it gives you complete control over the phones and features at your place of work. If you're interested in learning more about them, just take a moment and head over to their site for more information.

Ordering Clothes For Work

The other day I finally received the website I need from work to order my work clothes. At this job they give me a clothing allowance that I can use to purchase the shirts, hats and jackets that I need. I was really pleased with their selection, although I wish that they would have had pants and shoes as well. Oh well...anything is better than nothing...right?! I am excited to get them in...as they should be here quite soon. It will be nice to have many shirts and jackets to choose from. I'm looking forward to that!

Our Favorite Channel

Ever since we bought our home, HGTV is probably our favorite television channel to watch! We enjoy almost every show that they have on there, day or night. It's fun to watch as people change things in their house and what a difference those changes make. We've learned that it doesn't take much to update a room in your house. For instance, we painted an accent wall in our kitchen...and boy what a difference. We also updated our light fixture and put in a new sink. These were all fairly small things...and it's made our kitchen feel so much nicer. It's fun to get ideas like this off of HGTV.

Sports Tickets

Being the sports nut that I am...I would obviously love to go to a game. I love football especially...but even if I could get Miami Heat tickets or something like that I'd be happy too! I just love sports! I was doing some searching just to see if there's anywhere I can find NFL, MLB, NBA or even NHL team tickets and I came across Preimium Seats USA. They have a huge selection of first class tickets available for sporting events, as well as concerts and shows! It's really a great site for anyone looking for any kind of a ticket. I like that they have such a wide selection, that means that it would be easier to get the tickets that I want. Look into it next time you're looking for tickets.

First Birthday Coming Fast!

I can't believe Kaelyn is already 10 1/2 months old!! Where does the time go. We're starting to plan her 1st birthday party which hardly seems possible! I can't believe how quickly the time has gone. Now I believe all those parents who told me how fast the time goes and how you should savor every moment while they're this little. It seems like Kaelyn was just born, and now in a short month and a half we will be celebrating her 1st birthday. WOW!

Spaghetti For Supper

It's getting a bit late and we want to do something easy for supper. I think I'll make spaghetti. It's an easy meal, but one that doesn't seem like it's "easy" because it tastes so good. The best part about spaghetti is that it's great left over too! I'm looking forward to it. I suppose I should get going and get it started. As Jen is really busy tonight working on stuff around the house and we are both very hungry.

Capella University

Capella University is a pretty well known school. It's a fully accredited online university that offers a number of master's and undergraduate degrees. I think this is a school I'd consider if I were to go back to school. I like how you can get your edcuation from home and keep the full time job that you may have!! If you're interested in looking into Capella today to get a degree online, check out their site. There you'll even find their Inside Online Education podcast where there is an interview with faculty member, Beverly Enns. They have had many great podcasts which are interviews with staff and students. What better way to find out about the school than hearing it first hand!?!

Needing Groceries

In looking for food to eat tonight for supper, I have come to the realization that we really need some groceries. I don't want to get a lot...but we definitely need the necessities. Unfortunately I think I am going to have to go out tonight and get them because we are kind of busy this weekend. I really don't want to with it getting so late, but I guess I don't really have a choice. Oh well...

Make Money Blogging

I just love blogging for money. One of my favorite companies to blog for is Blogitive. I like them because they give many opportunities during the week for people to make money. They put them out there and give everyone a chance to grab them. They only pay 5 dollars a piece, but for as many as they put out there that's fine with me! I think I probably make the most money with this company over any of the others. I especially like how they give you two days to do the posts. I really appreciate that being a working person.

Being a Daddy is the BEST!

I'm sure many would agree...there's nothing better than a baby's smile!! Kaelyn smiles and laughs all the time now and I have to say it just makes my day each and every time. She's such a happy little girl and always is such a joy to be around. She also dances a lot and is very social which is fun as well. Jen and I have so much fun with her. We couldn't ask for a sweeter and more entertaining little girl. It's fun to watch her each day and see all of the new things she is learning and doing. Babies change so much and grow so quickly that it's important to take in every moment.

Loving my job!

With my new job I am able to come home much earlier than I was with my old job. I'm also on more of a set schedule which is something I really wanted having a family and all. I didn't want to work every weekend, or 10 hours a day. It's so nice to get home by 5 and know that my weekends are set aside for my family! I know Jen and Kaelyn like that too. I love getting to spend more time with them now!! I'm really happy I made this move in my career.....the Lord has truly blessed us with this opportunity and I am very grateful for that!

Free online clinical solution

I was recently reading an article about the Influenza Infection and how it seems to be spreading quite rapidly lately, especially among children of all ages! The flu can be a scary thing, and it's important that one sees a doctor about it and is diagnosed correctly if they have it. Many doctors are now using the medical software by Epocrates which makes it easier for them to diagnose and treat patients with all kinds of illnesses. In fact, they even recently came out with a free online clinical solution that allows drs to find prescription information, diagnosis information, and treatment information all online!! It's free and so easy to use. I don't know about you, but I feel more confident knowing that my dr will be getting the information they need right there when they need it. It's a great new technology and one that more doctors and healthcare professionals should take advantage of. You can learn more and check it out for yourself by visiting their site today at www.epocrates.com/online.

Starting a New Job

It's been WONDERFUL being home with Jen and Kaelyn the past few days....but tomorrow I start my new job and will be back in the swing of things. At least the hours will be better and I'll get to be home more now. I'm a little nervous, but I'm sure that's normal starting a new job. At least all of the employees that I will be working with seem very nice and down to earth. I am also going to LOVE what I'm doing which is a huge plus. I think it's so important to enjoy what you're doing....almost more important than the money or benefits end of things. If you are not enjoying it then life can be absolutely miserable.

I will keep you updated on how everything goes on my first day tomorrow......

Smart Little Girl!

I always enjoy coming home from work and hearing all the new things that Kaelyn is doing. It makes me sad that I can't be there to witness them for the first time with Jen, but I love hearing all about them!! Yesterday for instance, I walked in and Jen told me to ask Kaelyn a question. I asked her if she was done eating, and not only did she do the "sign" for "all done"...which she has been doing for a while now...but she also shook her head yes! It was ADORABLE!! Kids are like little sponges and they soak everything up. I am amazed each and every day at the things she can do. She is learning so much, so quickly! What a sweetie!
