Great to be back!

It is so great to finally be done with all that madness. The trip to Georgia, actually, went really smooth. We flew down there the day after Christmas, and started loading the truck right away. The second day there was all about getting loaded and at least to Atlanta, which we did. The 28th was all about driving, 18 long hours of driving. We left Atlanta at 6 a.m. and arrived in Cedar Falls at 12 p.m.. That was the longest trip, in the shortest amount of time, I have ever taken. I'm glad it's over.

Let the Craziness Begin!

Tonight starts the craziness with Christmas. After Jenna and I get off work today we have to drive up to Albert Lea, MN for my Mom's side, Christmas. Luckily I have Christmas Eve through the day before New Years Eve off, 10 days. During that time I will have been to my Mom's side, Jenna's Mom's side, my Dad's for Christmas Eve supper, and Georgia, all in 10 days. How crazy is that!

White Christmas?

We have yet to get a snow fall that has stuck. When I say stuck, I mean say around for longer than a couple of days. The weather here has been unusually warm for this time of year, and they ground is not even close to having a white snow cover. Christmas just doesn't feel like Christmas without any snow. The only good thing about not having snow, is that I have to drive up from Georgia a couple of days after Christmas. That is the only reason I'm glad not to see snow.

Added Christmas Craziness

I thought my schedule for Christmas was going to be crazy, now I have to go to Georgia in between Christmas and New Year's. My dad asked me to go with him to move my new Step-mom up to Iowa from Georgia. So now I have to work this into my schedule, because I know how important it is to my Dad and his wife. I guess let's bring on the craziness!

Christmas is Almost Here!

With Thanksgiving over with, now comes Christmas, and juggling the schedule all over again. If you thought that my schedule was busy during Thanksgiving, you haven't seen anything. Christmas, everyone tries to get together, and everyone wants you to be there. So now we have the goal of making to every Christmas family get together. We'll see how this goes.

What a great weekend

We are finally done with Thanksgiving, and now we get to look forward to going through this again in about a month for Christmas. The weekend was fun, my future Step-mom and her Dad got to come up from Georgia to have Thanksgiving with us, which was nice. It was also nice to have the whole weekend off, that is what I really liked.

I Hate the day after Thanksgiving

I absolutely hate working the day after Thanksgiving. Not only are you extremely busy, but you have to be at work 3 hours earlier than normal, and you don't get to enjoy the day like others. I am one that likes to get great deals on things and I can't do that when I'm stuck in a store working. I can't wait to get out of retail sales, for just this reason, not to mention working weekends.

Windsheild Time

Tonight, Jenna and I, leave to head back home for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, I have to come back the day after Thanksgiving to work, then I get to turn around and drive back up to Forest City for Thanksgiving on Saturday and Sunday and drive back to work on Monday. There is going to be a lot of driving in the next couple of days and I'm not looking forward to it.

Thanksgiving is Almost here

Thanksgiving is going to be here in about a week, and do we have a lot of Thanksgiving family gatherings. We have 2 on Jenna's side and 3 on my side, luckily they are all spread out over that Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, or we would have a hard time deciding on which ones to go to. I love Thanksgiving, not only for the food and football, but also to see family that I only get to see maybe once or twice a year.

Work Work Work

It seems that whenever I think that I'm going to have a weekend off, we always make plans to work. This weekend we're going to be in Britt working on Jenna's Grandpa's old gas station that he had. We have to get it cleaned up so that they can sell it. Right now there is so much stuff in there that it has been very difficult to even make a dent in it, we've taken dumpsters and dumpsters of stuff that we've thrown out. There is still so much to do out there we could be working on it for a while.

Gotta Love Fantasy Football

I am such a big football fan, more NFL than NCAA, but I'll pretty much watch anything. I started up a Fantasy Football League that started at the beginning of the football season, but with all the excitement of our vacation I haven't talked about it much. I have had my ups and downs this season with my team, it never fails that when one player has a so-so game, the rest of my team follows. Right now I'm in the middle of our league as far as ranking, which I guess isn't so bad.

Good To Be Home

It feels so good to be home. We just got back about 6 pm and stopped and ate at the Texas Roadhouse before settling in for the night. It was a good trip, we saw a lot of things, but the weather wasn't the greatest. For the most part, it was in the lower to mid 50's, which was cold. It also rained a couple of days, and those were the days that we had planned on doing this outside. But all in all it was a good trip, but I am happy to be back home.

Happy Birthday Babe!

Today we just arrived in Myrtle Beach and have just came back from going out to eat for Jenna's birthday. We stayed in Nashville, TN last and left there about 7 am. It was only about 8 hours to get down here, we arrived at about 3 pm. The weather is nice, it's in the upper 60's and very windy. Hopefully we'll have this good of weather all week!

OFF for 10 days!

I just got off work and now I'll be off for the next 10 days. I am so excited for this vacation, it will be nice to get away from Cedar Falls and just get out and see the sites. We are leaving tomorrow and will get back on the 29th. We will leave at about 6 in the morning and drive as far as we can before we stop, this will make the second day a lot shorter, and we can have more energy when we get to Myrtle Beach.

What makes a good B-Day gift?

Jenna's birthday is on the 21st, and we'll be on vacation during it, so what would make a good gift that I can give her. It has to be something that I can hide in my suitcase easy, but something that will not easily be broken. This is a tough problem to have because it is something that I also have to give to her in front of her parents. Maybe I'll just stick to giving her a card, and then take her shopping for something when we get down there. That, I think, would be the safest.

It's On!

After looking through all the golf course that they have to offer down in Myrtle Beach, I finally just decided to call our resort to see what they had to say about the courses. They gave me some good information about prices and how it is cheaper if you book through your resort instead of booking on your own. So I think that we'll wait until we get down there to make the decision.

Which Course to Play

Today I thought that I would take a look into which courses we should play while on our trip. Man, are there a lot of courses to choose from. There are over 1,000 courses in the Myrtle Beach area, they range in difficulty however, which should make the decision a little easier. All I know that this will be an experience that I will not forget.

Practice Practice Practice

Over the next couple of weeks I am going to try and get as much golfing in as I can. I am a little nervous about having to golf with or in front of other golfers down in Myrtle Beach, so I figure the more I play the better I'll get before then. I have done quite a bit of golf this summer, which now I'm glad I have, so I feel some what confident that after a couple of more outings I'll be prepared.

Planning a Vacation

After being home this last weekend, we decided that we should take a vacation before this winter. So this October we will be taking a trip, with my in-laws, to Myrtle Beach, SC. I am very excited to take this trip, since we haven't been there since our honeymoon a little over a year ago. This time I will be able to do some golfing too, which I absolutely would love since that area is known for it's golf courses.

Bad Weather

For the past couple of days we haven't had the nicest weather. There have been many Thunderstorm Warnings and Tornado Watches that have been issued for this area. We have gotten a lot of rain, and some very strong winds that have damaged some of the properties of our neighbors. I hope that this type of weather stops soon, because I like the sunny, warm weather much better.

Reed Golf Outting

Every year my Mom's side of the family gets together for a golf outing. This outing consists of teaming up with one other player in a two man best shot tournament. They make if fair by split up the teams according to skill level, and they separate the men against men, and women against women. This year my partner, Bill (my father-in-law) couldn't make it, because of a wedding that he had to attend. So needless to say I didn't win the tournament this year. But we will get them next year.

I Love Summer

The one great thing about summer is the water sports that can be played. My family owns 2 Jet-ski's, 1 Boat, and 1 Pontoon. I love having the option of being able to take one of these awesome machines out on the water and just have fun. I love summer!
