Looks Like November

Well, more and more it's starting to look like our little October baby will be a November baby. Jen is being induced on the first...so he/she is going to probably have a November birthday. That's fine with us...we're just excited that we'll have our little one home with us by the end of the week!! How exciting!:) We just can't wait.

Halloween

Jen and I are both looking forward to Halloween this year. We don't really actually get into the whole Halloween thing, but we enjoy seeing all of the little kids in their cute costumes. Jenna misses being a teacher during this time of year, because they would always have a class party, dress up in costumes and parade around the school so everyone could see them. The kids had so much fun...and I know Jen did too!! She enjoys being home, but sometimes she misses teaching.

Need More Sleep

For some reason I've been fighting a headache today. I'm not sure why, as I normally don't get headaches. The only thing I can think of is that I haven't been sleeping as well as I normally do. I probably haven't been going to bed as early as I should, and this is probably causing the headache that I have today. I'm going to have to make sure to get my rest tonight...especially with our new little baby coming any day now.

Waiting for a call

While I'm at work during the day, I make sure to keep my phone right by me at all times. Now that we passed the baby's due date we know that the baby could be here any time!! I'm so excited and wouldn't want to miss that call for anything. I've also left Jen with many other numbers as ways to get a hold of me in case for some reason she can't reach me on my phone. I told her that no matter what I'm doing, I'm racing there to take her to the hospital. Nothing is more important than family to me and I wouldn't miss this for the world!!

Not only because of the cold weather, but also because of the fact that this is the busy season for my line of work...and it would be nice just to get away and relax for awhile. It's been so nice to get some acres in at work lately. Working in the field is the only way that I get some bonus money twice a year...so as many acres as I can do the better!! That just means more money for us and our new baby.

World Series...Get ready for game three!

Well, the World Series is underway and we're already getting ready for game three! I can't believe how quickly this series is going. Tomorrow is the night when you'll probably find me in front of the television so I can see if Boston is going to continue it's lead on the Rockies. I don't always watch baseball a whole lot, but I really enjoy watching the World Series. Hmm...I wonder who will win.

Birthdays

This has been a busy month of birthdays. Josh and Jenna had their birthday on the 21st and today was Diana's birthday. Now, both of us couples are waiting for the birth of our little ones...both due to be born this weekend. If they are born on time, they will have October birthday's as well. Wow, October will be a busy month for our family won't it.:)

Work

I've been kind of frustrated at work lately. We have two different locations and I work at both. It seems when I'm sent to one, the other plant is busy out in the field and when I am sent to the other then the other plant gets busy. Sometimes I feel that I am always at the plant that is just sitting around with nothing to do. I am hoping that things pick up at both places soon.

October or November?!

Hmmm....what will it be...an October Baby or a November Baby?? Our baby's due date is actually this Sunday, which is the 28th. All along we've kind of thought our baby would be born in October. However, it's starting to look like it could end up being a November baby?!? Either way is fine with me...I just am curious which month he/she will born in.

Walking with Jen

Lately Jen and I have been trying to go and walk each night. I was bummed tonight because I had to work a bit later than usual so we weren't able to go. We both like walking around our neighborhood and spending that quality time together. It's also good for Jen as some people say it could help start her labor sooner. I don't know if that's factual or not, but I missed not being able to go walking with her tonight.

Cleaning the floors

With Jenna being pregnant I've really tried to help her with as much of the house work as possible. One thing that I especially always try and help her with is the kitchen floors. We have wood laminate floors in our kitchen and living room. You can't use water on them...so we have to use a special cleaner. Basically the only way to clean them really well is by getting down on our hands and knees. Obviously Jen is unable to do this so I make sure to do this job. It's not too bad, just time consuming.

I often forget that Friday's are our garbage days. I don't know why, but it slips my mind and Jenna usually has to remind me. I guess it's easy to forget when I am working all the time. When I do have some time, I've really enjoyed playing online Monopoly. It's so much fun!! I like the board game as well...but playing online is fun because i can start and stop the game whenever I want. I don't get to play it very often, but I do like to play it every now and then when I get the chance. I've tried to get Jen to play it...but she's not really into playing those kinds of games online. Oh well....maybe sometime I'll get her to at least try it.

So Tired!

Even though I haven't been working really late hours lately...I still find that I am quite tired when I get home. I feel bad because I'd really like to spend more time with Jenna at night, but she understands that right now with work it's hard for me to stay up very late with her. Soon the busy season will be over and then it will be easier. It's hard working from 7-6 every night...it really wears on a person.

Weatherman was wrong...

I thought that we were supposed to get quite a bit of rain this week...but it turns out that it's been very nice with no rain. I think it may rain tomorrow evening, but other than that I think it's supposed to stay nice like it has been all week. It's been a little cooler out...but still warm enough to wear a t-shirt. I like this kind of weather because I don't have to put on layers of clothes, but also don't have to sweat my butt off either.:)

Orlando

My wife keeps telling me what a great place Orlando, Florida is to visit. She and I both really want to plan a family vacation there someday, but know that there's so much to do and just want to have a plan in place before we go. What are we having??

It's kind of weird that we don't know if we're having a boy or a girl yet. I can't believe that soon we will know if we are having a son or a daughter. Feeling Bad...

I have felt bad for Jenna lately because she seems to be more and more uncomfortable these days. She gets headaches and backaches more frequently and also has not been sleeping the best. I told her that she may like sleeping in the recliner one night instead so that she can sleep without the baby putting so much pressure on her ribs. She said that she may do that, and I told her that I'd sleep out there with her if she wants.

So Excited!!

When I found out that Jen was going to be induced next Thursday i was so excited and called my parents. They were so excited and can't wait to have a new grandchild in the family!! Jen and I were just talking about how weird it is that these our last days together as just a married couple. Soon we will be a family of three and we can't wait.

A pain in the neck...

Coming Quickly

Only 4 days left!! I can't believe that soon our little one will finally be here. Jen and I were just talking the other night about how surreal it is that we'll be parents here, probably this week sometime. I don't have a truck, but my father-in-law and my dad both do. Can't Wait for Our Baby!

We only have a couple of weeks left before Jenna is due with our baby, and I am so excited. Although it's not the best timing with work, family comes first, and I will be there to see our baby born and be there for Jenna as she is in the hospital....nothing could keep me from that!!:) I really can't describe in words how very proud of Jenna I am for carrying our baby and soon to have it, and how excited I am to be a Dad. It's just such an awesome feeling!!

My mother-in-law's phone has been acting up lately, so I told her she should just get a new one. I told her that if she wants something comparable to her Razr then she should get the new Krazr. It has all the same features as the Razr but is not as wide, and is really a lot neater looking. She has had it for a week now and absolutely loves it. I guess I did good.:)

Baby's Name

We are down to the last couple of weeks before our baby is born and Jenna and I are having a hard time picking a girls name. It's such a big decision...and we're just unsure! Got my truck back!

I finally got my spinner truck back and am so happy. The old truck I was using was loud and the radio didn't work, so I had to sit the whole day in silence...this was quite boring to say the least!! So, to get my new truck back is pretty awesome!! It's really quiet and the radio works great. Now I'm ready for work....Let's go spreading!

Cold Weather

The past few days have been in the upper 40's and lower 50's, and last week the temperature was in the 60's and 70's. Getting More and More Busy..

After all the rain that we have had it has been kind of frustrating at work trying to get everything done. Finally this past week we were able to get some work done so that there will be less to do this spring. I have a feeling that it's still going to be a crazy spring, I just want to get as much done before it snows, to make it a less crazy spring.

My Spinner

What a bad day, we have finally started to get a little busy with spreading fertilizer and my Spinner truck's power steering went out as I was going across a field. These trucks are the size of big Monster Trucks, so as you could imagine I couldn't even turn the steering wheel. So I had to leave the machine in the field and use the old back-up spinner to finish my jobs. I can't wait to get my new one back.

I completely forgot that today is a federal holiday...Columbus Day. I was looking to get something in the mail today, but since it's 'a holiday...there is no mail. I kind of am wondering how that's going to affect our garbage pick up this week as well?! Most times if there's a holiday, that means our garbage gets picked up a day late. However, I'm not sure if this is one of the holidays that affects our waste removal company. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens on Friday.

Golfing

Today would have been a WONDERFUL golfing day. We don't get many of those kinds of days up north here in October. My father-in-law and I both really enjoy golfing. He didn't bring up his golf clubs last night when they came up, otherwise we probably would have gone out today. It's been a while for both of us since we got to go out golfing so we're just itching to go sometime soon.

Zoe

Jen and I are dogsitting her parents dog this weekend. Zoe is a really good dog and so easy to watch. She's really well-behaved and for the most part just lays around and sleeps. I know Jen was especially excited for her to come because she's really great company to her while I'm at work all week. We have her til' next weekend so that should be nice for her.

Day Off

I'm so happy...this is the second weekend in a row that I am able to have off from work. With all the rain we've been getting there just hasn't been too much to do around work. I was even able to take off early yesterday which was nice too. Although it is a day off, I still have lots that I need to get done. Particularly getting all of these leaves out of our yard. We have a few big trees and they sure have shed their leaves quickly. Thankfully I was able to get a mower with a vacuum on it to get rid of most of them. It's probably going to to take quite a while though!!

I just can't get over all of the leaves in our yard. I mean, I knew that we'd have lots of leaves because of all of our big trees, but this is just ridiculous! I never had really heard of Symark before, until just recently coming across a web release about them online while browsing the web. Brakes

Our car has been making some funny noise for a while now. We think it has something to do with the back brakes. We've been putting it off, but really need to get it in the shop and checked out, especially with winter coming. Hopefully it's nothing more than that and something that can be easily taken care of. Beautiful Day

I was so happy to look out the window this morning and find the sun shining bright with no rain clouds in site. Typically rainy days means not much work for me at work. I normally wouldn't mind, but we have lots that we need to get done in the fields before the snow comes...and here in Minnesota you just never know when that's going to be. I'm glad it's a nice day...now we can get out there and get some work done!

Street Lights

Jen and I live on a fairly quiet street which is nice...but the one thing that's missing is good lighting around the neighborhood at night. Thankfully one of the only street lamps is right across the street from us. We really appreciate that, except for when it burns out. It was out for over a week...and at night when you looked out it was complete darkness. Now, they finally fixed it, which is nice because it allows us to see our yard and street.

Garage

When Jen and I were shopping around for a house to buy, the garage was a huge thing that I looked at. The house that we ended up buying had the perfect garage, and was even heated. My wife would joke about the face that I would get a big smile on my face when we walked in the garage, and that it seemed to be my favorite room in the house...that's right room! Finishing Lunch

I suppose I better sign off from blogging for a while so that I can finish my lunch. I'm eating pizza, which is one of my favorite lunches to eat at work. I was going to take the leftover spaghetti, but thought I'd leave that for Jen so that she doesn't have to make herself lunch. She's so busy during the day...it's nice when she can just grab leftovers. She loves spaghetti besides, so she'll be pleasantly surprised when she sees that I left it for her.:)

Church

This past weekend we were back visiting Jen's parents, which was nice because we hadn't been to their place in a while. We went to church with them on Sunday, which is actually the church that Jen and I grew up in, so that was fun too. We figured most people knew that we were expecting, but we had many people come up to us and tell us congratulations and that they had no idea we were expecting a baby. They were even more surprised to learn that our new bundle of joy is actually due in less than a month. It was a fun time.

Moving to the Music

Jen has been telling me that the baby is really moving around a lot lately...and that his/her movements are getting very strong. She said it's fun, because if she runs the vacuum or is around music or something, the baby begins to move a lot. I got to witness this first hand at the baby shower this weekend, and so did all of our family members. Someone got us a card that, when you open it, it plays music. When I opened the card, all of a sudden you could see the baby moving all around, rolling and kicking. People got to see the movements and feel Jen's tummy. They thought that was pretty neat.

Feeling more prepared

We had such a nice time at our Baby Shower this past weekend. It was so nice to see all of our family that was able to make it...most of whom we have not seen in quite a while. We got so many wonderful generous gifts, and are now feeling much more prepared for the baby's arrival at the end of the month. For a while there we were wondering if we would be ready when the baby comes...but after all of the nice gifts we received there's not much more that we need. It's a good feeling, since Baby Gaskill will be here in just a few short weeks.

3 1/2 Weeks Left

I can't believe that we only have 3 1/2 more weeks left until our little one arrives!! These past nine months have gone by quickly, but at the same time it's seemed like a long time waiting to meet our new son or daughter. Hopefully these next few weeks go by quickly, not only so we can meet our new baby...but also so Jenna can be more comfortable. Towards the end of pregnancy it's been getting more and more uncomfortable for her to get around and to sleep.

Dr Visits

This week Jenna starts going to the doctor every week. I thought she might kind of dread that, but she really is enjoying it. She loves going to hear the baby's heartbeat and talk with the doctor. I've been able to go with her to most appointments too, which is nice. She's actually looking forward to going every week now, because it will make the last 4 weeks of the pregnancy go by really quickly I think. We're both excited about that...we can't wait to meet our little one!

Nesting

Lately Jen has been going through a "nesting" stage in her pregnancy. With the baby's arrival just around the corner, she all of a sudden feels like there's a lot to do before the baby is born. She not only been doing the cleaning that we normally do around the house, but also more deep cleaning...scrubbing the baseboards, wiping the brick off around the fireplace...I guess that's all part of this stage that they call "nesting". When I get home I like to help her with whatever jobs she'd like me to do, so she's been making me "honey do" lists most nights. I really enjoy helping her out...she does so much and I like to help in any way I can.

Orlando

My wife tells me how wonderful Orlando is to visit, however I've never been there personally. I'd love to take my wife and our kids on a vacation to Orlando someday, and now I know where to turn when the time comes to plan a trip like this. Zoe-sitting

Jen's mom called pretty excited last night. She found out that she and Bill get to go on a cruise with her work in February. They deserve a nice vacation like that, as it's been quite a while since they had one!:) We're excited for them. We're also excited because while they're gone we've been asked to Zoe sit (that's they're dog). Zoe is such a good dog, and is so easy to dogsit. Jen always enjoys her company too...so it should be fun!

Weddings

It seems like ever since I got out of college, we have so many friends getting married and having kids. It's really a fun time in our lives, because we get to go through all of these same things with our friends. Jen and I got married around the time that a lot of our friends did, and now some of us are even having babies around the same time. It's fun being able to go to all of the weddings and things like that too. I think since May, we have been invited to over 7 weddings. It's a fun time!

When I got home from work last night, Jenna was pretty excited! She does a lot of working online and does some blogging for money when she gets the chance. I was even able to grab some when she told me that with my account too. With things being so busy with the baby coming and all...we haven't been doing as much blogging as we would like. Leaves

When I woke up this morning and looked outside I was pretty bummed. Our yard was just covered in leaves. When it's windy and it rains, it causes the leaves to fall and right into our yard. I mowed and tried to get rid of as many leaves as possible, but that really didn't do any good, because the very next day our yard was full of them again. Someday we'd like to get rid of a couple of the trees in our yard....there's a couple of really big ones in the front yard that need some attention.

Baby Stuff

Tonight Jen and I are planning on heading over to Walmart to get some of the things that we're still needing for the baby. Stuck Inside

It's another rainy day out there, so I'm stuck inside the office instead of out there getting something done in the field. I really am looking forward to just getting this busy season over with...but the rain is making that fairly difficult. I just want to get started, because then we'll be done sooner. Our baby is due in less than 4 weeks now, and I really want to be able to spend some time with my wife and baby after he/she is born. Hopefully things pick up and the weather straightens up so that will happen.

Grandpa and Grammy's House :)

When we were back visiting Jen's parents this weekend, her mom was showing us all of the things she started to buy for the grandbabies.:) She and Bill are both very excited to be Grandparents, and they've been getting some really great Little Tikes toys and things for the kids when they're a bit older. They even have some things for babies to use as well. Seeing how they have such a nice place for kids to play...I'm sure our kids will really enjoy going to Grandpa and Grammy's house!!

Running Errands

Jen and I get groceries every two weeks or so. Even though we go and get everything that we think we will need for the next two weeks...we often find ourselves running to the grocery store or walmart several times throughout the week. Oh well, I can't complain I guess. At least we live only minutes from each of these places, so it's always a quick trip to pick up whatever it is that we need.
