Hurry Up and Wait

The past few weeks have been very crazy with all of the buying and selling of houses. 2 weeks ago our Realtor brought to our attention that we might want to consider putting a bid in on a house that we like, because there was another couple that was going to do the same. So we did, it took us a week to come to terms on the offer but we did it. During this time someone had but in an offer on our house, that we are selling, as well. They had terms that they wanted to close at the end of May, so we had plans that we would close at the end of May. We countered their offer and they said that they would like to have a contractor go through our house before the except our offer. So we were thinking, "Great! What a quick and painless sell." But the next day we came to find out that they had closed all talks about our house. So now we have a house that we have bought, subject to the sale of ours, and now we have to sit and wait.
