My New Truck

Monday I will be starting my new job and one of the perks of the job is getting a new truck. The gave me the option between a Four door Chevy or a four door Ford. My current work vehicle is a Chevy, and although I like it, I want a little change of pace. I have always liked Ford's style in their trucks and I can't wait to get my new one!

Heat Finally Win!

Heat get there first win in the last 6 games, they had lost their last 5 before beating the Lakers tonight by 6. You could see the sense of relief on their faces to get the win. I am glad to see them win, for one, because it will stop all the sports talk shows from talking about it all the time. I am, however, interested to hear what they have to say about tonight's game.

New House

Do you ever get tired of junk mail!?! I know I do!! I can't go a whole day even without checking my e-mail only to have the whole inbox full of e-mails I don't care about. The thing is...I have a junk mail filter and that fills up too. It just doesn't catch everything. I don't know how people even get my e-mail address...but I'm so tired of it being used to solicit stupid things! If anyone has a good way to stop all of these e-mails from flooding in, please let me know. I've tried switching e-mails, but it only gives my inbox peace for a short time...then it starts all over again!

I could go on and on for all that I'm thankful for...these are just a few of many. Thank you Jesus for sending your son, for my wonderful family, for my job and so much more!

Are you a facebook user? It's become a huge social network, but I am not that fond of it. They seem to change things all the time, and I just loose track of what they do. I enjoy going on and keeping up with some friends and family, but for the most part I do not use it much. I could take it or leave it probably. My wife really likes it though. She updates it with the kids' pictures etc so our family out of state can watch them as they grow. So that's nice I guess.

Patience

Our house is for sale and so far there's not much going on with it. We've had some offers and lots of showings, but are still waiting for the right buyer. At least we're not being pressured to move or anything...we'd just like to get closer to my job and to family. I hope it happens before winter so we don't have to move in the cold. WE'll see though. Whatever happens and happens and it will be the way it's supposed to be. We just have to be patient.

Birthdays

Can you believe that October is more than half over? I can't! It's nice though. Work is starting to slow down and I actually have more time with family. It's nice for sure. Thursday is my wife's bday and then a week after is my daughter's. It's a busy, but fun time of year and hopefully we'll have lots of time to celebrate. Our son's 1st birthday is at the end of November too. Lots of birthdays to go around.

They'll play with an empty big box for hours. Hiding in it, climbing it...you name it. I think it's great!

Siblings

Now that Kaden is crawling he and Kaelyn are able to do more together. I love sitting and watching them play. It's so neat as a parent. Kaelyn loves her little brother and really enjoys reading to him and helping him play with toys. I think once he starts walking they'll especially have fun. It's just neat to see that bond already forming. I hope with their close age that they'll be close for years and years.

Television for kids

Do your kids enjoy television shows like Dora and Word World? Ours do. Even Kaden is interested. Kaelyn loves them. We don't mind her watching them sometimes because their educational and wholesome. It's sad, but unfortunately there aren't a lot of shows like that anymore. She doesn't watch a lot of television though. It's more of a treat when she does which is how we'd like to keep it.

The Fair

Last weekend was fair weekend here in town. Every year we take Kaelyn and this year we have Kaden to take too. Kaelyn loved the animals and all the people as usual, but Kaden wasn't too sure. He's a little more shy and gets scared having the animals too close to him. It's funny how different their personalities are. I guess all kids are different. Maybe with age he'll enjoy it more. We'll have to see.

Beauty Schools

Regency is a fast growing beauty school that started more than 50 years ago right here in Minnesota. They have expanded from 2 Minnesota schools in 2002 to almost 30 campuses across 9 states, including hair schools in Wichita. The continue to grow which is not surprising after learning more about their great approach to cosmetology education.

Their campuses mirror upscale salons and give students the benefit of a real life situation with hands-on experience and expert facility supervision. I think it's great. Every school should do this! Even the public benefits by having discounted salon services that are high quality. How great is that?

Hot Weather

The weather has been terribly hot lately. It really makes it miserable to be outside. It's been in the 90s and then with the humidity it's been feeling like over 100. The kids don't even enjoy it, and between that and the mosquitoes, we don't let them outside much over the past few days. Hopefully as the month goes on it will get better. WE only have a couple of months left of nicer weather, then winter will be here. Ugh!
